Why preparation costs extra
Breaking old tiles, removing debris from upper floors, levelling the slab and waterproofing wet areas can add ₹25 to ₹60 per sq ft. Skipping these steps is why many floors go hollow within a year.
Large tiles need adhesive, not cement
Tiles larger than 600×600 should be laid with polymer-modified adhesive and levelling clips. It costs a little more but prevents lippage and hollowness.
Choosing for a Mumbai flat
For most flats in Mira Road and Bhayandar, large vitrified tiles give the best value. Marble suits clients who want a classic look and accept periodic polishing. Wooden flooring works in bedrooms but not near bathrooms or balconies.
